The Unknown Teacher & Bahasa Melayu Sarawak

The Unknown Teacher & Bahasa Melayu Sarawak
A student came up to me today asking for some photos.  I was not having the best mornings, and when that happens, I get annoyed easily. This student was from another class, and it was apparent that she doesn’t know that I do not like my students using local dialects in class, most particularly Bahasa Semenanjung and Bahasa Melayu Sarawak (BMS).  It’s not that I have any problem with...

News On Sarawak CM Not True

News On Sarawak CM Not True
Mom used to tell me that I should get my facts right before making any decisions, and I have since followed her advice till today.  When I see or listen to something or some news, I’d check myself and verify the whole story before taking any decisions.. and it was the same when I read about Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud’s protest in the UK in the Sarawak Report. Which...

Well, NO.  Personal attacks are for cowards.  Real heroes look at the big picture, the whole picture.  So I bet you must be thinking...

The Beauty of the Rainforest World Music Festival

The Beauty of the Rainforest World Music Festival
Honestly, I’m surprised myself with what I have just seen. Coming to the Rain-fest as a media wasn’t expected, and its an opportunity I’d never want to miss.  You can ask Amiey, I practically coaxed her to come. After last year’s Rain-fest, I was eager to come to this one.  Last year was a blast.  No, not a blast, but a BOMB!!  Never had I enjoyed a concert in such a way. ...

The New Sarawak Tribune

The New Sarawak Tribune
The dead has been resurrected, or so the paper which everyone in Sarawak thought was dead is now back, and it’s none other than the Sarawak Tribune or popularly known as ‘Tribune’ among locals.  Well known among the locals of being very much ‘pro-government’, the Sarawak Tribune is now re-branded as ‘The New Sarawak Tribune’ or in short NST.  Sounds familiar...
