The Street Photography by Sarawak Bloggers was a week ago, and I am only posting about it now. Been busy with work. Some how, before a holiday starts, my work tends to pile up. I also re-designed my blog to feature a new nice, clean template, and I hope it does load fast and nice. Well, the whole event went well despite the rather 'moody weather'. Robin, a good friend working in KL was kind enough to share tips on how to get the best from Street Photography, although I found it very much challenging to follow his brilliant advice due ...
I'm just spreading the word here... There will be a Street Photography Meet-up organized by Sarawak Bloggers this coming Sunday (29 August 2010), at 8:15am, and you are invited to come. No matter what camera you have, you can attend. Even if it's a phone camera. I'm only using a CANON IXY25IS, which is a point and shoot digital camera. It's not really about the images, but it is about making new friends and building up networking. As a bonus, you get to know how to get good images for street photography because we will have some sort of sharing from street ...
In one of my previous post, I told you of how I loved the variety of food made available at the Macam-Macam Ada Buffet Dinner. To day the least, that particular buffet is good for holiday goers and those looking to mix around with a good crowd. But, I am not that type of person when it comes to dinner. I love privacy and 'space', including being a little 'up-market' when dining. That's why, Riverside Majetic's Sungkei Ria is a good choice. Delivering a good mix of Malaysian, Thai, Japanese and Western cuisine, the Sungkei Ria buffet is delightful and the ...
After almost 10 years going to the Pasar Ramadan, I think this year... I am going to give it a skip. I'm overall very disappointed with the Pasar Ramadan in Kuching, or in Matang Jaya in particular. The items are not only expensive, but at some point, you could question the cleanliness. I even had stomach ache at some bad days. Parking is a usual nightmare in any part of the country during this time, so I can't complain about that. So, if you have decided to skip the usual pasar Ramadan like I did, but still want to enjoy the ...
Got an invite to cover the launch of a new wine line in both Grand Magherita Hotel and Riverside Hotel. To be honest, I have no idea how do you rate 'good wine' and 'ordinary wine', and I do not fancy wine at all. I'd prefer liquor, followed by beer, and wine will be last on my list. In fact, I have a personal view that wine is for the ladies because it is 'less powerful' compared to beer and liquor. I couldn't be more wrong because a sip of Lapostolle Cassa Chardonnay Vinatage from Chile proved that wine is 'strong'. ...
I finally agreed to join the PSKPP this year. After years in service, I figured it's about time. Work... *shakes head*... I'd just rather not say. Those whom have met me personally know how I feel. Being 27 years of age, and being treated like kids is no way you can enjoy something. For those of you not familiar with what is PSKPP, it stands for Pesta Persatuan Sukan Kebudayaan & Perkhidmatan Pelajaran. I'm not sure of the objective of the whole fest, but there was karaoke, poco-poco, football, badminton, cooking, and many more being contested. Being someone whom has ...
Yeah, I know… yet another post about the Rain-Fest. If you are getting bored reading about the rain-fest, then be patient because this is the last post about how great the 3-day fest was. Indeed, you may say I seem to be biased since the fest is somewhat ‘Sarawakian’ in nature, but I just can’t help it. Such a wonderful festival deserves to be shared, and with me having a blog… I simply can’t help but tell all of you of how great this festival was. The saying is that, at every Rain-Fest, you’d leave with one band which you would fall ...
To be frank, I practically jumped with joy when I saw an email from Gustino Basuan which reads "I cant find your email address. Please email me ASAP as I already list you up into our media list which entitle you for a Media Pass at the RWMF. This will enables you a free entry for the whole 3 days festival and all other Media access and priority at the festival." I guess he eventually found my business card because there was another email (on the same day) from him which says "Cyril, If this is your email address please ...
Honestly, I'm surprised myself with what I have just seen. Coming to the Rain-fest as a media wasn't expected, and its an opportunity I'd never want to miss. You can ask Amiey, I practically coaxed her to come. After last year's Rain-fest, I was eager to come to this one. Last year was a blast. No, not a blast, but a BOMB!! Never had I enjoyed a concert in such a way. Liquor aside, the Rain-Fest is about nothing but music. With bands from all over the world, you can't simply understand what any of them have to say.. but the ...
I'd just want to say a huge thank you to Advertlets for inviting me to the Kuching Xpax Xplay Party 2010 at Paragon, Travillion, Kuching. The party was AWESOME!!! So, the party was largely raved up by two main DJs. DJ Funkzu was spinning RnB tunes, while DJ Monkey was doing the techno stuff. As the crowd swelled, the party atmosphere gained with peeps responding to every song played. Popular mixes, including those which have been re-mixed by both DJ Funkzu and DJ Monkey proved to be nothing short of awesome. My feet couldn't stand still as it shook to ...
