the culture, the life & the job

About Me

Friends call me Cyril, but I wouldn’t mind to be called Dason either, because that is my name:  Cyril Dason.

This is a portrait of myself, after heavy editing by Bello Photography:

Cyril Dason

According to the Chinese calender, I was born in the year of the Water Dog which means I am relaxed but hugely stubborn but determined.  The Gregorian calender however would point out that I was born on January the 6th, 1983 which makes me a little over 27 this year and also a forceful Capricorn.

My life revolves a lot on educating others, teenagers to be exact.  It’s a challenging job, and it has huge responsibilities.

Mount Serapi

The place I call home is known as Kuching, a humble city located somewhere on the island of Borneo.  It is also home to the inaugural Rainforest World Music Festival, and has the best view of Mount Serapi.

Although I’ve had over 17 years of formal education, my academic qualification remains modest, with only a Degree in Technical and Vocational Education in hand.  At the moment, there is no plans to ‘re-educate’ myself, as I am carefully re-evaluating my goals in life.

I am fascinated by music and I enjoy shopping for perfumes/cologne and computers.  I know, it does sound like a weird mix, but that’s me.

My note

In work, I enjoy keeping things simple but working.  And yes, I do believe in karma.

The following quote is one of my favorite as it summarizes myself in one sentence:

What I’ve done is who I am, but what I’ve done is not who I’ll be.
(Dan Scott of the TV series One Tree Hill)
